Hey artists, do you ever bring yourself down because your artwork doesn't end up exactly how you envisioned it at the beginning?
And do you ever not post your artwork on social media because you think it's not good enough?
Or maybe you overwork some certain pieces or never finish them because you can't get them to be quite right?
If you're nodding right now, then you just must listen to this chat that I've had with Sarah Gardner back in April 2020 (first national lockdown hence my adventurous fringe!).
Sarah Gardner, my fellow mixed-media artist from Cardiff-by-the-Sea in California, calls herself a recovering perfectionist. She tells us her journey to let go of perfectionism and be kinder to herself.
And most importantly, Sarah used her art journals to navigate through the high expectations that she had towards herself.
So make yourself a cuppa and hit the play button on the recording from our perfectionism chat. Happy listening!
I love that u go for the cheaper journals because u then feel more freeeeee! I agree!.if.someone gives me a very nice one all I can do is stare at it, admire and worry! 😝 don't know why/how that underline? is there?! If u have a loosey goosey brain like I do, as u age, there is more and more u don't know! oh well! That why art so comforting! 🙋💐😊
